Jennifer has experience in a number of fields including Real Estate and Business Management. She has been a valued Board Member with us for over 5 years prior to joining us on staff. As our Executive Director she is very passionate about our mission and vision.

Cher Vaughn

As a former practicum student through the Human Service Worker diploma program via the College of the Rockies, and now an employee, Cher brings with her to BBBSCVI a passion to help children and youth in her new community.  Cher is enthusiastic about ensuring that every child has a person of support in their lives, providing them with encouragement, and empowerment in their early and formative years.

In Cher’s spare time, she enjoys exploring the many beaches Nanaimo and the surrounding area has to offer with her son and their dog.  Cheryl also enjoys reading, going to concerts, yoga, volunteering, hiking, and gardening.

Jericka Alolino

Jericka Alolino is a licensed Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) in B.C. and has operated Bright Lights Academy in the Philippines since 2019, serving 50–80 students. She is finishing her Diploma in Business Administration at the University of Victoria, where she also earned certifications in Social Media Management, Change Resilience, and Administrative Technology. With over 15 years of experience as both a mentee and mentor, Jericka is passionate about giving back and believes mentorship played a life-changing role in her journey. In her spare time, Jericka enjoys watching Japanese anime and Asian dramas—a passion that led her to serve as Vice President of the UVic Anime Club.
